Is the ISO sensitivity high or the shutter speed slow?
(When set to [AUTO], ISO sensitivity increases for indoor and
other shooting occasions. When set to [ ], ISO sensitivity may
increase depending on movements and brightness of the subject.)
• Reduce ISO sensitivity. (P84)
• Set [NOISE REDUCTION] in [PICT.ADJ.] to [HIGH] or set
every item except [NOISE REDUCTION] to [LOW]. (P91)
• Improve the ambient light.
In [HIGH SENS.] (P68) in scene mode, the resolution of the recorded
picture decreases slightly because of high sensitivity processing.

Shooting of motion
pictures stops
unexpectedly.
This camera is not compatible with motion picture recording
on MultiMediaCards.
When you set the [PICT.MODE] to [30fpsVGA], [30fps16:9L] or
[15fps16:9H], we recommend using cards that offer 10 MB/second or
higher speeds (shown on their packages and elsewhere) for best results.
• Depending on the type of SD Memory Card, recording may
stop in the middle.
The picture freezes
momentarily when the shutter
button is pressed halfway.
• Is the AF mode 3-area-focusing (high speed) or 1-area-
focusing (high speed)? (P88)
