Loosen the lock nut (Item 2) and turn the adjustment screw anti-clockwise until a
frictional noise occurs at the wheel. Next, screw in the adjustment screw until the
frictional noise disappears and the wheel runs freely. Once adjustment has been
completed, lock off the adjustment screw by tightening the lock nut (Item 2).
Ensure the brake force of both rear wheels is adjusted equally.
Ensure that the drum brakes engage without too much force. Force should be
adequate when the manual brake lever is set to the second ratchet position.
If the seat fabric has stretched due to extended use, the upholstery can be re-adjusted to restore
optimal pressure distribution of the thighs.
Loosen the hook & loop connection under the seat fabric. Re-tighten the
upholstery and secure this position using the hook & loop fastener. Check that the
cross brace seats fully in the frame saddle clips when the wheelchair is unfolded.
Remove the padding of your back upholstery and loosen the strapshook & loop fasteners. Ple-
ase ensure that the users pelvis is positioned as far posterior in the wheelchair as possible, i.e.
between the back tubes. Especially in the lower section (pelvis) the padding must have sufficient
sag. Next, adjust the straps one by one, beginning with the lowest one. Lay back the padding
onto the back upholstery. The contour of the adjustable back will result from the individual re-
quirements of the user. Please ensure that adjustments do not build up too much pressure. A
well adapted back will facilitate relaxed, permanent sitting of the wheelchair user and reduce
the risk of secondary damages and pressure zones.
