COMPLEMENTARY FUNCTIONS
If you want to send or receive a document at the end
of the telephone conversation, follow the procedure
described in the “Sending or receiving a document
after a telephone conversation” section.
ANSWERING A FACSIMILE OR TELEPHONE CALL WITH THE FAX/PHONE SWITCH
ENABLED
This section explains what to do when an incoming call (facsimile or telephone) is received with the "FAX/
PHONE" parameter set. When this parameter is enabled, the facsimile machine is automatically set for manual
reception. Automatic reception can be re-enabled by setting the relevant operating configuration parameter
(see the "Setting the operating configuration parameters" section of the "PROGRAMMING" chapter).
o The facsimile machine is on. The message "FAX / PHONE" appears on the second line of the display.
The fax/phone switch has been enabled in the operating configuration (see the “Setting the operating
configuration parameters” section of the “PROGRAMMING” chapter.
1. When a call is received, the facsimile machine (with the fax/phone switch enabled) checks if it is a facsimile
or telephone call. If it is a fax call, it is set to receive a document, while if it is a telephone call, the machine
beeps (for a period that depends on the setting made by the technician who installed the machine) and
the message “TALK” blinks on the display.
2. When the message “TALK” appears on the display, lift the handset and talk as normal. If you hear no
dialling tone, press TALK before starting to converse.
If you do not lift the handset within a few seconds, the facsimile machine prepares to receive a document.

described in the “Sending or receiving a document after a telephone conversation” section.
ANSWERING A TELEPHONE CALL WHILE SENDING OR RECEIVING A DOCUMENT
This section explains how to proceed when you receive a request for a telephone conversation while sending
or receiving a document.
o The facsimile machine is switched on. You are sending or receiving a document.
1. When the facsimile machine beeps and the message “TALK” appears on the display, lift the handset and
talk as normal. If you hear no dialing tone, press TALK before starting to converse.
