4 Basic Page
This section includes settings that apply to the entire device, such as Device Defaults,
Security, and basic Networking. Pages in this section are available only to the
Administrator (if the Admin password has been set).
Setting the Administrator password is highly recommended. See the Security section for
other security options. Function specific settings are found under their respective
sections. For example, advanced networking functions, such as e-mail notification, may
be found in the advanced section.
4-1 Basic > Device Defaults
This page allows you to make settings that change the display language of the
operation panel, access privileges for the operation panel, time until the system
switches to sleep mode, and the RAM Disk Size.
Item Description
Operation Panel Language You can select the language of the messages on the message display by
following the procedure given below. The following languages are
available for selection in the drop down list.
English, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Español, Nederlands, and Português.
Lock Operation Panel COMMAND CENTER provides the ability to restrict the type of access that
accomplished from the operation panel. This can be done by selecting one
of the available settings: Lock, Partial Lock, or Unlock.
• Lock: Prohibits use of all operation panel keys.
• Partial Lock: Prohibits use of the operation panel’s MENU key.
• Unlock: There are no restriction on the operation possible from the
operation panel.
Sleep Timer Adjusts the sleep time between 5 to 240 minutes. The default setting is 15
minutes.
(Advanced)
Sleep Mode
Switches Sleep Mode On or Off. The default setting is On.
The procedure for changing the COMMAND CENTER sleep mode is
shown below.
1. Click the Advanced button on the right side of the drop down list.
2. Set Sleep mode to On or Off.
3. Click Submit at the bottom of the page.
Buzzer This switches the buzzer sound On or Off. The default setting is On.
RAM Disk Mode This switches the RAM Disk Mode On or Off. By setting this mode to On,
the memory capacity can be edited in the RAM Disk Size on the bottom.
When a hard disk is installed, no RAM disk can be used.
RAM Disk Size This is used to specify the RAM Disk size. Click on the drop down list to
select the size. The maximum RAM disk capacity varies depending on
your machine model and the amount of memory installed.
