Operating and maintenance instructions
Incorrect operation or maintenance renders the manufac-
turer's liability null and void, as does failure to use original
spare parts or any unauthorised changes to the structure
of the door.
Operation:
The mechanical equipment of this door is designed to mitigate
to the greatest possible extent the risk of anyone operating or
standing near the door being crushed, cut, clipped or otherwise
injured.
To ensure safe use of the door, the following points must be
observed:
B1 Operation of this door is only permissible at temperatures
between -30°C and +40°C.
B2 Operation of the door in windy conditions can be danger-
ous!
The maximum allowable operational force of 150°N cannot
be guaranteed from wind speed 5 on the Beaufort scale.
We recommend keeping the door closed in these wind
conditions.
B3 Manual operation of the hinged door is only permissible
with the outside or inside handle of the active leaf and
flush bolts of the inactive leaf. The operator must always
keep his hands away from moving parts.
B4 Keep people and objects out of opening range when oper-
ating the door from inside or out.
B5 To open, swing the door leaves one by one up to the end
positions, the locking device must be activated. Then drive
through/walk though the door opening.
B6 To close the door, first unfasten the inactive leaf from the
locking device, swing to the closed end position, press
flush bolts at the top and bottom and let bolts click securely
into place.
Then unfasten the active leaf from its locking device and
swing it to the closed end position so that the latch locks in
place in the strike plate of the inactive leaf.
Now the door is closed but not locked; it can be opened by
operating the handle at any time.
Lock the deadbolt(s) by turning the key in the profile cylin-
der once.
B7 This door must NOT be equipped with a door operator!!!
Maintenance:
The following must be checked following installation of the
garage door, after malfunctions as well as every 5,000 cy-
cles and every 6 months thereafter, at least.
Maintenance by unskilled or appropriately qualified install-
ers:
W1 Regular visual inspection, take countermeasures in case of
unusual behaviour or visible changes.
W2 Check door as described in the test instruction (P1-P5).
W3 Grease latch following installation of the garage door and
as necessary
W4 Do not grease the lock cylinder; if it does not run smoothly
enough, treat it with graphite spray.
W5 Remove coarse dirt from seals regularly with lukewarm
water and some washing-up liquid if necessary. If neces-
sary - to preserve elasticity and prevent premature ageing
- apply a maintenance product for EPDM seals.
W6 Ensure sufficient ventilation (drying) of the door frame;
water drainage must also be ensured.
W7 Keep all corrosives or other aggressive agents such as
acids, lye, salts, fertilizers, etc. away from the door.
W8 "DuoPort 700" hinged doors are coated with polyester at
the factory. Any paintwork on site must be applied within 3
months from delivering using 2C epoxy primer containing
solvents and, once hardened, standard paint.
W9 Touch up the paint at intervals as required by local envi-
ronmental and atmospheric conditions.
W10 We recommend wiping the door regularly with a soft, damp
cloth. If necessary, use a mild cleaning agent or soap with
lukewarm water. Avoid using any polishing agents or abra-
sive or organic solvents/cleaning agents. Before cleaning,
flush the door and glazing thoroughly with water to avoid
scratches caused by dust particles.
Maintenance by suitably qualified installers:
W11 Check screws and clamp connections for secure fit and
tighten if necessary.
W12 Check wearing parts (seals, strike plates, hinges, etc.) and
replace with original spare parts, if necessary.
W13 The sliding bearings of the hinges are maintenance-free,
please do not lubricate/grease them!
