PIN-code (Personal Identity Number)

Met de PIN-code beschermt u uw telefoon tegen ongeautoriseerd gebruik.

De PIN-code wordt meegeleverd met de SIM-kaart. Als u de optie PIN-code

vragen hebt geselecteerd, moet de code elke keer als de telefoon wordt

ingeschakeld, worden opgegeven.. De PIN-code moet 4 tot 8 cijfers lang zijn.

PIN2-code

Sommige SIM-kaarten hebben ook een PIN2-code. De PIN2-code is nodig

voor het gebruiken van bepaalde functies die door de SIM-kaart worden

ondersteund. De PIN2-code moet 4 tot 8 tekens lang zijn.

POP3 (Post Office Protocol, versie 3)

Een veelgebruikt protocol voor het gebruik van de remote mailbox.

PPP (Point-to-point Protocol)

Een veelgebruikt netwerkprotocol waarmee computers met een modem en

een telefoonlijn rechtstreeks verbinding met het Internet kunnen maken.

Een set formele regels die bepaalt hoe gegevens worden overgedragen

tussen twee apparaten.

Proxy

In sommige netwerken wordt de verbinding tussen het WWW en de site

waar u naartoe wilt geblokkeerd door een firewall. De firewall beschermt het

netwerk tegen ongeautoriseerde toegang van buitenstaanders. Een proxy is

een programma dat toegang via de firewall mogelijk maakt. Een proxy kan

ook worden gebruikt om het downloadproces te versnellen. In dat geval

fungeert de proxy als netwerkcache.
