SSL (Secure Socket Layer)
Een beveiligingsprotocol dat erop is gericht afluisterpraktijken,
ongeoorloofde inmenging en vervalsing van berichten op het Internet te
voorkomen. Documenten die gebruik maken van SSL zijn herkenbaar aan de
aanduiding HTTPS.
TCP-poort
De gegevenspoort van de doelcomputer.
TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol)
Een protocol dat de gegevenscommunicatie op het Internet en in TCP/IP-
netwerken verzorgt.
TLS (Transport Layer Security)
Een beveiligingsprotocol dat lijkt op SSL en dat volledig gecodeerde en
geverifieerde verbindingen biedt. De server waarmee een verbinding tot
stand wordt gebracht, wordt geverifieerd aan de hand van certificaten. Elke
gegevensoverdracht wordt beveiligd met gecodeerde algoritmen. De Nokia
9210 Communicator ondersteunt TLS versie 1. Zie ook SSL (Secure Socket
Layer).
URL (Uniform Resource Locator)
Informatie die de toepassing WWW nodig heeft om verbinding te maken
met een bepaalde WWW-hostcomputer. Een URL begint meestal met http:/
/. De homepage voor het Wireless Data Forum van Nokia vindt u bijvoorbeeld
op http://www.forum.nokia.com. Naar URL’s wordt vaak verwezen met
zinnen als “Homepagelocatie”, “website-adres”, “te vinden op...”.
