USING THE VACUUM
Correct use of the vacuum
Before using the machine, connect the suction pipe to the
inlet.
Keep long suction pipes as straight as possible.
Do not allow them to bend or twist as this will cause
excessive wear and clogging.
When the vacuum is powered, suction is created at the
pipe inlet and this sucks in the waste material.
This waste material passes through the pipe and
accessories through the inlet “4” until it reaches container
“6”, where a deflector “5” in the filtering chamber subjects
it to a centrifugal action causing the heavier solids to
deposit on the bottom of container “6”.
The primary filter will retain the lighter particles in the
airflow “3” as the air passes through it.
Lastly, the filtered air enters impeller “1” of the suction unit,
it is then exhausted through exhaust panel “2”.
Cleaning the primary filter
Vacuum gauge “1” is installed on the front part of the
vacuum (see fig. 4) and indicates the vacuum created
within the vacuum itself. This vacuum is expressed in
millimetres of water column. If the pointer is on the right
(green area), the filter will be in a good condition.
If the pointer swings to the left (red area), this means that
the filter is clogged and has a reduced filtering capacity.
In this case, it will be necessary to clean the primary filter.
Switch off the vacuum by pressing the OFF button “5” (red)
(fig. 4).
Operate the filter shaker handle “2” (fig. 7) several times in
order to detach the dust from the filter.
Wait a few minutes for the dust to deposit at the bottom of
the container, then empty this.
Clean the pipe, if this is the case.
Emptying the container
Check the amount of waste in the container according to
the job in hand and to prevent it from becoming
excessively full.
Before emptying container “1”, first switch off the vacuum
by pressing the OFF button (red) then turn the main switch
to position 0 (OFF).
It is also advisable to clean the primary filter by using the
shaker handle.
Wait a few minutes for the dust to detach from the filter and
deposit in container “1”.
Lift lever “4” under the inlet.
Container “1” will lower until it rests with its wheels on the
floor.
Grip handle “2” and remove the container, then empty out
its contents.
To make container “1” easier to empty, Nilfisk-Advance
supplies a lifting strap to be used when lifting the container
by use of a forklift or a crane. Insert the strap in the
mounting brackets on the container.
To remount the container, fit it under filter unit “5”.
Now push lever “4” downwards, allowing container “1” to
lift until it seals against filter chamber “5”.
To facilitate the container emptying and cleaning
operations, it is advisable to use plastic bags “1” as
indicated in figure 9.
ATTENTION!
If the machine is used for fluids or wet
materials and fluid emerges from it, the
machine must be immediately switched-off,
cleaned and dried and all filters replaced.
NOTE
If the vacuum gauge “1” (fig. 7) is still in the
red area, the suction pipe, may be clogged,
and not the filter.
ATTENTION!
The container must not be emptied if it
contains dust classified as a health threat,
(Dust classifications M and H).
A plastic bag must be used for the disposal
of dangerous dust or, alternatively, the ABS
container with a lid.
The corresponding article numbers for
these items are given in Chapter 9.
ATTENTION!
Check that when back in position, container
“1” is in a perfectly sealed condition.
ATTENTION!
These bags cannot be used when the waste
contains liquids or sharp items.
