WG102-500, WGAP150 ProSafe™ 802.11g Wireless Access Point
Basic Functioning
After you turn on power to the wireless access point, the following sequence of events should
occur:
The power LED should be lit.
The status LED should be lit.
The LAN LED should be lit.
The Wi-Fi LED should be lit.
If any of these conditions do not occur, see to the appropriate following section.
No LEDs are Lit on the Wireless Access Point
It takes a few seconds for the power LED to light up. Wait a minute and check the power LED
status on the wireless access point. If the wireless access point has no power:
Make sure that the Ethernet cable between the wireless access point and the PoE switch
is properly connected at both ends.
Make sure that the power cord of the PoE switch is plugged in to a working power outlet
or power strip.
Make sure you that your PoE switch is functioning normally.
The LAN LED is Not Lit
There is a hardware connection problem. Check these items:
Make sure the cable connectors are securely plugged in at the wireless access point and
the PoE switch.
Make sure the connected device is turned on.
Make sure that the correct cable is used. Use a standard Category 5 Ethernet patch
cable.
The Wi-Fi LED Does Not Light Up During Wireless Activity
The wireless access point or the external antenna is not working.
If the Wi-Fi light remains off while the wireless access point is transmitting or receiving
data, disconnect the Ethernet cable from PoE switch and then plug it in again.
Contact NETGEAR if the Wi-Fi light remains off while the wireless access point is
transmitting or receiving data.
