When sensor leads are extended, apply the following lead cross-
sections:
Up to 20 m with 0.75 mm
2
to 1.50 mm
2
conductor cross-section
20 m up to 100 m with 1.50 mm

conductor cross-section
Route cables through the grommets provided and connect them as
shown in the connection diagrams.
3.2.2 Connection to mains voltage, pump and valves
(mains voltage side)
The cover must be removed in order to establish electrical connections.
Only use cable of comparable quality.
Ensure the power supply is connected to the correct phases.
A power supply via an earthed safety plug is not permissible.
Only connect components and assemblies to the outputs in
accordance with these instructions. Do not connect additional
control units that regulate other system components.
Route cables through the grommets provided, connect them as
shown in the connection diagrams and secure them with the strain
relief supplied in the standard delivery ( Fig. 11 to 19, from
page 57).
3.2.3 Connection diagrams with system schematics
The hydraulic diagrams are only schematic illustrations and provide a
non-binding notice of a possible hydraulic circuit.
Install safety equipment in accordance with applicable standards
and local regulations.
For further information and options, refer to the technical guides or
tender specification.

Switches on the module:
I Coding switch I – System type: the system type (up to
max.8heating zones and 1cylinder or up to max. 7 heating
zones and 2 cylinders) is set at coding switch I (coding switch
on left, Fig. 20, page 59).
II Temperature switch II – Temperature of DHW: the
temperature of the cylinder is specified at temperature
switch II (coding switch on right, Fig. 20, page 59) (not with
controller C 100).
Terminal designations:
230 V AC Mains voltage connection
BUS Connection to EMS 2/EMS plus BUS system
IZ1...3 Connection for a control signal from a switch (Input Zone)
IZ4 Not working
MD1 Not working
OS1 Not working

(Pump Zone)
Coding switch I to S (in UK only):
PZ1 Motor for DHW 2-port valve
PZ2 Motor for heating 2-port valve
Coding switch I to Y (in UK only):
PZ1...PZ2 Mid-position valve (Terminal 14: DHW off
Terminal 43: heating operation)
T0 Connection of flow temperature sensor to the low loss header
(Temperature sensor)
With coding switch I to S or Y (in UK only): not working
T1 Not working
TC1 Coding switch I to 2 or 3: connection not working
Coding switch I to 1, 4, S or Y (S and Y in UK only): connection
of cylinder temperature sensor (Temperature sensor

with user interface CON, the heating appliance HS, ...)
CON User interface EMS 2/EMS plus (temperature controller,
modulating)
CZ1 Limit switch for 2-port valve, switch for DHW valve
(Contact Zone, in UK only)
CZ2 Limit switch for 2-port valve, switch at valve for heating
(Contact Zone, in UK only)
HS Heat Source

VZ2 2-port valve for heating (V
alve Zone)
Coding switch to Y (in UK only):
Changeover valve (Valve Zone); connect as follows:
green/yellow: PZ1
blue to: PZ1 N
grey to: PZ1 14
white to: PZ2 43
orange to: PZ2 no lettering (no function)
*) The labelled parts of the system are connected to a MZ 100
with coding 3 ( Fig. 20, page 59) or coding 4 ( Fig. 21,
page 60).
1) Thermostats TZ1...8 can be replaced by one user interface
for each heating circuit respectively (e.g. I/O controller).
Observe coding of the modules ( Chapter 4).
The assignment of the electrical connections depends on
the system installed. The description shown in Fig. 11 to
Fig. 19, from page 57 onwards, suggests a possible
process for assigning the electrical connections. Some of
the steps are not shown in black. This makes it easier to see
which steps belong together.
The maximum power consumption of the connected
components and assemblies must not exceed the output
stated in the module specification.
If the mains voltage is not supplied via the heat
appliance electronic system, install a standard isolator
(in accordance with EN 60335-1) on site to disconnect
all poles from the voltage supply.
