Examine your kit carefully!
MULTIPLEX model kits are subject to constant quality checks throughout the production process, and we
sincerely hope that you are satisfied with the contents of your kit. However, we would ask you to check all the
parts before you start construction, referring to the Parts List, as we cannot exchange components which
you have already modified. If you find any part is not acceptable for any reason, we will readily correct or
exchange it once we have examined it. Just send the component to our Model Department, with adequate pre-
paid carriage, and be sure to include the completed complaints form. We are constantly working on improving
our models, and for this reason we must reserve the right to alter the kit contents in terms of shape or
dimensions of parts, technology, materials and fittings, without prior notification. Please understand that we
cannot entertain claims against us if the kit contents do not agree in every respect with the instructions and the
illustrations.
Caution!
Radio-controlled models, and especially model aircraft, are by no means playthings in the usual
sense of the word. Building and operating them safely requires a certain level of technical competence
and manual skill, together with discipline and a responsible attitude at the flying field.
Errors and negligence in building and flying the model can result in serious personal injury and
damage to property. Since we, as manufacturers, have no control over the construction, maintenance
and operation of our products, we are obliged to take this opportunity to point out these hazards and
to emphasise your personal responsibility.
Essential accessories:
Minimum five-channel receiver (e.g. RX-5 light M-LINK, # 5 5808) => only required for RR version! , transmitter,
ideally with Expo and Dual-Rate functions (e.g. Cockpit SX, # 4 5130), LiPo-compatible battery charger (e.g.
MULTIcharger LN-3008 EQU, # 92540).
Important note
This model is not made of Styrofoam™, and it is not possible to glue the material using white glue, polyurethane
or epoxy adhesives.
These glues only produce a superficial bond which fails immediately when stressed. Please be sure to use
medium-viscosity cyano-acrylate glue exclusively - ideally our Zacki -ELAPOR® # 59 2727, the super-glue
designed and optimised expressly for ELAPOR® particle foam. If you use Zacki-ELAPOR®, you usually do
not need cyano activator (kicker). However, if you prefer to use a different cyano, and therefore have to use
activator, always use the spray in the open air to avoid the unpleasant fumes. Please take care when handling
cyano-acrylate adhesives; these materials harden in seconds, so avoid getting them on your fingers or other
parts of the body. We strongly recommend the use of goggles to protect your eyes. At some points you can
also use hot-melt adhesive; the instructions tell you where this is possible.
Preparing the model for flight
1. Gluing the tailplane to the fuselage
Check that the elevator moves smoothly at the hinge line. You may find it necessary to flex it up and down
repeatedly (no more than 45°) until it moves reasonably freely.
Glue the tailplane to the fuselage using Zacki ELAPOR®, taking care to align it accurately.
Connect the elevator pushrod to the outer hole in the elevator horn. Fig. 1+2
2. Attaching the wing
First remove the canopy by pulling the front section up and off. Run the aileron servo leads into the fuselage.
Offer up the wing to the fuselage and fit the retaining screws at the trailing edge.
Now place the undercarriage in the recess, fit the retaining screws, and tighten them to fix the undercarriage
and wing to the fuselage. Fig. 3
3. Installing and setting up the electronics
Install the receiver (using Velcro tape) just aft of the Centre of Gravity, as close as possible to the wing spar.
Connect the servos and the speed controller to the receiver, referring to your RC system instructions for the
correct sequence. Leave the motor disconnected from the speed controller initially. Connect the flight battery
and set the servos to neutral. Check that all control surfaces are now at centre. Fig. 4+5
Check the direction of rotation of the propeller, referring to the Safety Notes. If you find that the motor rotates in
the wrong direction, swap over any two of the wires between the motor and the speed controller.
