Održavanje kosišta/grebena Kosište/greben dio je stroja koji je pod stalnim opterećenjem. Stoga je razumljivo da iziskuje posebno
održavanje. Preporuča se kosište/greben očistiti nakon svake uporabe. Potrebno je skinuti noževe kako bi se očistila i nečistoća između noževa.
Ukoliko se stroj ne koristi duže vrijeme, zaštitite ga od hrđe. Iako su grebenaste kosilice relativno neosjetljive na kamenje i sl., može se desiti da
uslijed jakog udarca dođe do savijanja/oštećenja noževa. Stoga preporučamo da prilikom oštrenja noževa, što se u pravilu dešava svakih 4-6 radnih
sati, provjerite stanje noževa. Oštećene noževe popravite. Samo s besprijekornim noževima možete očekivati besprijekorno pokošen travnjak. Stoga
redovito pregledavajte vodilice noževa te podesite razmak između njih. Važno: prilikom podešavanje vodilica noževa, prvo podesite jednu vodilicu pa
drugu. Noževe toliko zategnuti da se mogu ručno pomicati.
Oštrenje noževa (slika 13)Već prema upotrebi noževe ćete morati naoštriti. U tu svrhu potrebno je izvaditi oštricu iz kosišta/grebena i
očistiti ga. Provjerite da noževi nisu savinuti – savinute noževe popravite. U tu svrhu pogodna je ručna brusilica s oko 15000-20000 okretaja u minuti,
u kombinaciji s brusnim nastavkom u obliku šalice dijametra 25 mm i dužine oko 35 mm. Brusi se isključivo s prednjom stranom, krenuvši od stražnje
strane noža pa prema vrhu. Noževi trebaju rezni kut od 35-40%.
