HOW TO RIDE
The MPF DRIVE supports you when riding, as long as you step into the pedals.
Without pedaling, there is no assistance.
The motor output always depends on the amount of your pedaling power.
When applying less pedaling power, the motor support will be lower than when
applying heavy power.
The motor support automatically switches off when the e-Bike succeeds its legal
speed threshold (25 or 45 kph). When the speed again falls below the threshold,
the motor support will be applied again on demand.
You can also ride the bike like a normal bicycle without motor assistance.
Either switch off the motor system or set the support level to “zero.
Change the gears according to your actual riding situation and chose a lower gear
for low speed and a higher for high speed. To support your gear shifts you may use
the gear shift indicator on the AF Display. By selecting the right gear, you can
increase the speed and range with the same pedaling effort.
To make changing gears easier and to reduce its wear, it is recommended to briefly
interrupt the pedaling while changing gears.
An exception applies to the push assistance (BOOST) function, in which the e-Bike
can be pushed at low speed without pedaling.
The pedals may also rotate when the push assistance is used.
WHAT WILL INFLUENCE THE RIDING RANGE
The operating range depends on many factors, such as:
– Chosen assistance level
– Gear-switching behavior
– Type of bicycle tires and tire pressure
Age and condition of the battery
– Route profile (inclines) and road or path conditions (road or path surface)
– Head wind and outer temperature
– Weight
Unfortunately it is therefore impossible to precisely predict the range before
commencing a trip.
General rules:
– For the same motor output of the MPF DRIVE: The less power or force that you
have to bring about to reach a certain speed (e.g. through optimal use of the gears),
the less energy the e-Bike will consume, and the greater the range for one battery.
– The higher the assistance level under same conditions, the lower the range.
