Before plugging in, check to see that the
rated mains voltage and mains frequency,
as stated on the rating label, match with
your power supply.
Always install an RCD with a maximum trip
current of 30 mA upstream.
To guarantee secure purchase of the
chuck: After initial drilling (clockwise),
use a screwdriver to firmly tighten the safety
screw inside the drill chuck. Caution left-handed
thread! (see Section 7.9)
6.1 Assembly of the additional handle
For safety reasons, always use the
additional handle supplied.
Open the clamping ring by turning the additional
handle (1) counter-clockwise. Push the additional
handle onto the collar of the machine. Insert the
depth stop (2). Securely tighten the additional
handle at the angle required for the application.
7.1 Depth Stop Setting
Loosen the additional handle (1). Set depth stop (2)
to the desired drilling depth and retighten additional
handle.
7.2 Switching On and Off
To start the machine, press the trigger switch (7).
The rotational speed can be changed at the trigger
switch by pressing.
For continuous operation the trigger switch can be
locked using the lock button (5). To stop the
machine, press the trigger switch again.
In continuous operation, the machine
continues running if it is forced out of your
hands. Therefore, always hold the machine
with both hands using the handles provided,
stand in a safe position and concentrate.
7.3 Rotational speed preselection
Preselect the maximum rotational speed at the
setting wheel (8). For recommended rotational
speeds for drilling, see page 4.
7.4 Switching over drilling/impact drilling
Select the desired operating mode by shifting the
slide switch (3).
Drilling
Impact drilling
Work at a higher rotational speed in impact drilling
mode.
Impact drilling and drilling only in
clockwise operation.
7.5 Selection of direction of rotation
Do not activate the rotation selector
switch (9) unless the motor has
completely stopped.
Selecting the direction of rotation:
R=Clockwise
L=Counter-clockwise
The drill chuck must be firmly screwed
onto the spindle and the safety screw
inside the drill chuck must be firmly tightened
with a screwdriver. (Caution, left-handed
thread!)
If rotated counter-clockwise (e.g. when
screwing) it could otherwise become loose.
7.6 Switching pulse function on and off
(depending on equipment)
Do not work for long periods with
pulse function switched on!
(The motor can overheat.)
Actuate rocker switch for pulse function (4).
0 =pulse function switched off
= pulse function switched on
7.7 Tool change
Keyless chuck Futuro Plus (12)
(equipment-dependent)
See illustrations, page 3.
Insert tool. Grip the retaining ring (a) firmly and, with
the other hand, turn sleeve (b) towards GRIP, ZU",
until the mechanical resistance which can be felt is
overcome.
Caution! The chuck is not yet fully tightened!
Keep turning (there is a clicking" sound while
turning), until further turning is no longer possible -
only now is the tool securely tightened.
When using soft bit shanks, it may be necessary to
retighten the chuck after a short period of operation.
Opening the drill chuck:
Grip the retaining ring (a) firmly and, with the other
hand, turn the sleeve (b) towards AUF, RELEASE".
Note: The ratchet sound which can possibly be
heard after opening the drill chuck, is functional and
is switched off by a reverse rotation of the sleeve.
If the tool is fitted very tight:
Unplug. Hold drill chuck with an open end spanner
at the jaw opening and turn sleeve (b) firmly towards
"AUF, RELEASE".
