prior to every cutting operation, to
accommodate the height of the
workpiece (the upper blade guide
should be set approx. 3 mm above
the workpiece);
after adjustments of band saw blade
or saw table (e.g. band saw blade
change, tensioning of the band saw
blade, saw table alignment).
A
Danger!
Turn the machine OFF and wait
for the band saw blade to stop before
adjusting the upper blade guide or
the saw table.
1. Set the upper blade guide (53) with
the setting knob (54) to the desired
height.
8.2 Sawing
1. If necessary, adjust the table tilt.
2. Select rip fence and table tilt for the
type of cutting operation to be car-
ried out.
A
Hazard generated by a jam-
ming workpiece!
When sawing with the rip fence and a
tilted saw table, the rip fence must be
installed on that side of the saw table
which is tilted downward.
3. Set upper blade guide 3 mm above
the workpiece.
3
Note:
Always make a trial cut in a piece
of scrap to verify settings; correct if nec-
essary before cutting the workpiece.
4. Place workpiece on the saw table.
5. Start saw.
6. Cut workpiece in a single pass.
7. Switch off if no further cutting is to
be done immediately afterwards.
A
Danger!
Prior to all servicing:
switch machine OFF.
wait until the saw has come to a
complete stop.
unplug power cable.
Check that all safety devices are
operational again after each service.
Replace defective parts, especially
of safety devices, only with genuine
replacement parts. Parts not tested
and approved by the equipment
manufacturer can cause unforeseen
damage.
Repair and maintenance work other
than described in this section should
only be carried out by qualified spe-
cialists.
9.1 Adjusting the speed
By shifting the V-belts four different
speeds can be set.
The following materials can be cut when
using appropriate saw blades:
Shifting the V-belts
1. Open housing door.
2. Turn V-belt tensioning crank (56)
clockwise to slacken V-belt tension.
3. Reposition V-belts according to the
schema on the inside of the housing
door:
from motor pulley (58) to interme-
diate wheel(57);
from intermediate wheel (57) to
lower band saw wheel (55).
4. Turn V-belt tensioning crank (56)
counter-clockwise to tension V-
belts.
5. Close housing door.
6. Let saw test-run for at least one
minute.
7. Stop saw, unplug and check set-
tings.
9.2 Changing the band saw
blade
A
Danger!
Risk of injury, even with the
band saw blade at standstill. Wear
gloves when changing blades.
Use only suitable band saw blades
(see “Technical Specifications”).
1. Loosen screws (59) of locking bar
and open locking bar (60).
2. Open housing door.
3. Adjust upper blade guide (61) to its
lowest position.
4. Open lower blade guard (62).
5. Loosen setting knob (64) until the
band saw blade has slackened.
6. To remove the band saw blade,
guide it through
the slot in the saw table,
the blade guard on the upper
blade guide (63),
the lower blade guard (62) and
the blade guides.
7. Fit fresh band saw blade. Observe
