To set the analogue black level
Choose the ANALOG BLACK LVL option:
SET:ANALOG BLACK LVL
7.5 IRE
This sets the correct black level for YPrPb DVD sources. It is only available when the
component input is selected with a 60Hz source.
Many DVD players offer black level options, sometimes called enhanced blacks. For best
results the player should be left at its default settings and the analogue black level
adjusted in the DVP1080HD.
To set the HD input H-adjust
Adjusts the horizontal position of High Definition sources (720p/1080i) to match the
horizontal position from Standard Definition sources:
SET:HD INPUT H-ADJUST
25
Available only when a 1080i/720p signal is detected. Not available in HIGH BANDWIDTH
mode.
First align the proper image size and position on the display using a test pattern from a
DVD. Use the H/V, L/R and sizing controls in the display device, if available. Use the H/V
adjustments in the DVP1080HD OSD if the display does not offer them.
Switch to the HD source and adjust the HD INPUT H-ADJUST to match.
The input for the HD source must be selected in order to make the HD H-ADJUSTMENT.
Some display devices offer minimal image adjustments when using the DVI inputs.
Some HD satellite receivers offer H-adjustments. Those can also be used in conjunction with
this function to get the best results.
To set H&V sync as composite sync
Sets H&V sync as composite sync on the H connector when using analogue RGB output (4-
wire connection):
SET: COMP SYNC ON H
ON
This option is only available when ANALOG RGB OUTPUT is selected and not in HIGH
BANDWIDTH mode.
RGBHV is recommended for best results.
To set the RGB input sync
Sets the sync type for the RGB input:
SET: RGB INPUT SYNC
SYNC-ON-GREEN
Only available when the RGB input is selected and not in HIGH BANDWIDTH mode.
The composite sync option should be selected when using PAL RGB.
To set the DVI input level
Select the DVI INPUT LEVEL option.
Only available when the DVI input is selected.
This sets the correct input signal level to match the correct DVI input source. The options
are explained in the following table:
Option Description
DVI-VIDEO (16-235) Typical for video sources. If the source is 0-255 and the setting is
16-235 the image will be too bright.
DVI-PC (0-255) Typical for digital display devices (the processor’s output is 255).
If the source is 16-235 and the setting is 0-255 the image will be
dull.
