oils,fuelsand greases by rubbinggently
withacloth soaked in petroleum ether or
lighterfluid.

to paintedsurfaces. You could otherwise
damagethe paintwork.
If water no longer forms "beads"onthe paint
surface, use thepaintcareproducts recom-
mended and approvedbyMercedes-Benz.
This is thecaseapproximately every three to
fivemonths, dependingonthe climatecon-
ditionsand thecareproductused.
If dirthas penetrated thepaintsurfaceorthe
painthas become dull, thepaintcleanerrec-
ommended and approvedbyMercedes-Benz
should be used.
Do notuse these careproducts in thesun or
on thehoodwhile thehoodishot.

Use asuitable touch-up stick,e.g.MB
Touch-Up Stick,tocorrect smaller areasof
paintdamagequicklyand provisionally.
Mattefinish care
If your vehiclehas aclear matte finish,
observethe followinginstructions in order to
avoid damagetothe paintwork due to incor-
rectcare.
These notesalso apply to lightalloy wheels
withaclear matte finish.

Never polishthe vehicleorthe lightalloy
wheels. Polishing causes thefinish to
shine.

The followingmay causethe paintto
become shiny and thus reduce thematte
effect:

Vigorous rubbingwithunsuitable mate-
rials.
R
Frequentuse of car washes.
R
Washingthe vehicleindirectsunlight.

Never use paintcleaner, buffingorpol-
ishingproducts suchasglosspreserver
(wax). These products are only suitable for
high-gloss surfaces. Their use on vehicles
withmatte finish leads to considerable sur-
facedamage(shiny, spotted areas).
If wax comes into contact withthe painted
surfacebyaccident, remove it immediately
withcommercially available petroleum
ether.Dosocarefully and do notapply too
muchpressuretothe paintedsurface.
Ensurethatnoresinous, greasy or oily sub-
stances come into contact withthe paint,
as these can leavearesidue. If suchsub-
stances do come into contact withthe
paintedsurfaceaccidentally, remove these
immediately withcommercially available
petroleum ether.Dosocarefully and do not
apply toomuchpressuretothe painted
surface.
Tar stainsormarks on thepaintedsurface
can be removedwithacommercially avail-
able tar remover. Do so carefully and do not
apply toomuchpressuretothe painted
surface.
Always havepaintwork repairs carriedout
at aqualified specialist workshop,e.g.an
authorizedMercedes-BenzCenter.

Do notuse wash programs withahot wax
treatmentunder any circumstances.

The vehicleshould preferably be washed
by handusingasoftsponge, car shampoo
and plenty of water.

Use only insectremoverand car shampoo
from therange of recommended and
approvedMercedes-Benzcareproducts.
