Die funkgesteuerte Uhr liefert Ihnen die genauste Zeitangabe innerhalb des Kontinents. Das Signal wird von der Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt (PTB) in
Deutschland empfangen. Über einen Sender in Mainflingen, der sich etwa 25 km südöstlich von Frankfurt befindet, sendet die PTB in regelmässigen Abständen ein
Zeitsignal (DCF77, 77.5kHz), das im Umkreis von 2‘000 km empfangen werden kann. Allerdings kann die Reichweite durch lokale Gegebenheiten (z.B.in der Nähe von
Flughäfen, Baustellen, Bergen, grossen Gebäuden) beeinträchtigt werden.
