seat belts
Depending on the model, MCLOUIS vehicles are tted
with three-point automatic seat belts or two-point lap
straps. As far as fastening seat belts is concerned, refer to
the legal requirements of the individual countries.
Always follow the instructions below for using seat belts.
●Do not damage, twist or tie seat belts together. Replace
damaged belts.
●Do not make any modications to the seat belt fasten-
ings, buckles or winders.
●These belts should only be worn by adults.
●For children, check whether the child seats can be ad-
justed to t the vehicle seats. When tting, follow the
instructions from the child seat manufacturer very
carefully. Place child seats only on seats tted with
three-point seat belts.
●Seats facing backwards are not suitable for installing
child restraint systems.
●Do not strap objects in together with people.
●The seat belts are not suitable for people shorter than
150 cm. Where necessary, use the additional safety de-
vices as set out in the Highway Code.
hoW to uSe the Seat BeltS correctly
Read the instructions and the warnings in
the “Seat Belts” paragraph in the chassis
manufacturer’s Owner Handbook before
using the seat belts.
●When the vehicle is in motion the seat backrest should
not be reclined too far back as the eciency of the seat
belt would be severely compromised.
●The seat belt should be at and extended, resting
against your chest or abdomen.
●Sit in the correct position before adjusting your seat
belt.
●The seat belt is positioned correctly when it is close
to your body: if there is a gap of between 5 and 6 cm
between your body and the belt it is not correctly ad-
justed.
●To fasten your seat belt, insert the tab A into the buckle
B.
●To release your seat belt, press the button C.

Passengers must remain seated in seats equipped with
seat belts and keep the seat belts fastened while travelling.
Consult the registration document to check the number
of type-approval seats.
brakes
●Any faults or operating problems should be repaired
immediately by specialist or authorised personnel from
the chassis manufacturer.
●Before each departure check the brakes by making
sure that:
– the brakes are working
– the brakes are working evenly
– the vehicle does not skid during braking.
Read the instructions and the warnings on
the use of the brakes in the chassis Owner
Handbook very carefully.
