SFX SERIES USER’S GUIDE
Rev 2.2 98
The following fields can be edited on the Samba Configuration Edit page:
Edit Field Description
Workgroup Name Enter a name that matches your LAN's Windows workgroup.
Host Name Enter the Host name of the receiver. This is what your receiver will be viewed as by other
computers on your LAN.
Description Enter a description for the receiver. This can also be seen by other computers on your LAN.
Enabled This field allows you to enable or disable the Samba server on the receiver.
Volume
This submenu allows you to set the output volume level on the on-board audio ports. This function is useful for
multimedia player applications in the receiver, and is not applicable to data applications.
Utilities
When the Utilities Menu Tool Bar item is selected, a submenu page appears which provides menu items relating to
utility functions and special features within the receiver. These are described in the following sections. Note that some
submenu items will only appear when the appropriate special feature or option is purchased and installed (e.g.
Cyphercast – see Appendices).
In each of the submenus, there are the Common Menu Items, and typically the Show and Edit menu items for those
areas where configuration changes can be made. The Show item displays the current configuration and the Edit item
allows you to edit certain fields in the configuration. In the Utilities such as PING, a menu item is provided which allows
you to execute the specific utility command, given the parameters that have been entered on the page.
Documentation
This submenu allows you to access any online documentation that is supplied with this version of software. Generally,
only the User’s Guide will be available. When you are on the documentation page, you can click on the User’s Guide
button to access this document.
Irdeto
This submenu allows you to access the sub menu for Irdeto and Softcell options. It will only be present for receivers
with this option installed. The Irdeto option is described in Appendix B.
Backup and Restore
This submenu allows you to backup and restore the configuration of the receiver, as set by the Web GUI. This can be
useful if you wish to restore back to factory or failsafe settings. The purpose of each button on the page is explained
on the page, as shown in Figure 2- 74. In the context of the explanations, x-packs are special applications that are
loaded at the factory, such as XD or Performance Logging. Daemon configurations are many of the core software
configurations used by the receiver, such as multicast routing.
