rische Staatsbahn Anfang des 20.Jahrhunderts.
Mit 154,5 km/h war die S 2/6 genau 29 Jahre lang die schnellste
Dampflok in Deutschland und bekam dafür das „Blaue Band“.
Die typische grün-schwarze Farbgebung spiegelt die Zeit ihrer
Erbauung wieder. Die Lok wird von vielen Kennern als schönste
Lok überhaupt gehandelt, denn sie hat viele Vorzüge: Sie ist
zum einen extrem langgestreckt und mit 2 riesigen Treibrädern
ausgestattet, zugleich wirkt sie aber durch den durchbrochenen
Barrenrahmen äußerst filigran.

This fast green locomotive was operated by the Royal Bavarian
State Railways at the start of the 20th century.
After setting a record speed of 154.5 km/h (96 mph), the S 2/6
remained the fastest steam locomotive in Germany for no less
than 29 years, for which it was awarded the „blue ribbon“. The
typical green and black color scheme re ects the era in which it
was built. The locomotive is regarded by many a cionados as the
most beautiful design ever, as it has many attractive features: It
features a very elongated shape on the one hand and is equipped
with 2 huge traction wheels. At the same time, its pierced bar-
frames give it an extremely intricate appearance.
