The +12 Vamplifierconnection must then be connected withapower cable possessing an integratedfusetothe battery’s pluspole. The
fuse must belocatedclose to the battery, the lengthofcable from the battery’s positive poletothe fuse must belessthan 60 centimetres
for safety reasons.Onlyinsert the fuse whenallinstallationwork, including the connection oftheloudspeakers, has been completed.
Nowconnectthecarhi-fireceiver’sremotecontrolconnectiontotheamplifier’sREMcontroljack.Acablewithacross-sectionof0.75mm²
is sufficient for connectingtheamplifier’s REMOTE connectionandthe control device.
4.2 AUDIOCABLES
Wheninstallingthe audiocable betweenthecinchoutputofyourcarreceiver andthe cinchinput ofthe amplifierinside yourcar, the audio
and power supply cables should, wherever possible, not be routed along the same side of the vehicle. We recommend an isolated
installation, e.g. routing the power cable through the cable duct on the left-hand side and the audio cable through the cable duct on the
right-hand side orviceversa. This reducesinterferencedue to crosstalk intotheaudio cables.
This also applies totheconnecting cable for the remote controlforregulatingthe volume. This cableshouldnotbe laid on the side ofthe
power supply leadsbuttogether with the audio cable.
4.3 LOUDSPEAKERCONNECTIONS
· The lowest terminalresistanceis1 ohm
· Never connect theloudspeakers’minus terminals to thevehiclechassis.
· Never connect the+12V supply voltagetoaloudspeaker output as thiswoulddestroy the amplifier final stage.
If the amplifier is operated with lower terminal resistances or incorrectly used as described above, both the amplifier and the
loudspeakers may bedamaged. The warranty becomesvoidin such cases.
5. OPERATINGELEMENTSANDIN/OUTPUTS
5.1 SETTINGTHEINPUTSENSITIVITY
The input sensitivitymay be adapted to anycar radio or tape deck. Turn the volume control of your radio to its central position and then
adjusttheinput-levelcontrol(2)toproduceanaveragemediumvolume.Thissettingusuallyprovidessufficientpowerreservesatoptimum
weighted noise voltage.
ATTENTION:only reproduce loudtestnoises briefly to prevent damagingtheloudspeakers.
5.2 LOW-PASSFILTERWITHADJUSTABLECROSS-OVERFREQUENCY
Setthedesiredcross-over frequencywith thecontrol (4).Thismakesthefilteradaptabletotheinstalledwoofer’ssoundrequirements.The
filter’shighedgesteepness is responsible fortheprecision reduction of medium andhighfrequency ranges.
5.3 SUBSONICFILTER
Thesubsonicfunctionreducesthelowestbassfrequencies.Thereductionratemaybeinfinitelyadjustedwiththeregulator(5).Thisallows
distortions produced by excessive loudspeaker membrane movements to be effectively minimized without reducing the utilizable bass
levels.
5.4 BASS-BOOST
The bass-boost function(3)is used to increaseorequalizethe lower bass frequencies.
5.5 VOLUMEREMOTECONTROL
Thevolume maybe adjustedby usingthe suppliedremote control.Pleaseobserve duringinstallationthattheremotecontrollineshouldn’t
beroutedalong thesame sideofthe vehicleasthe powersupply cables. The remotecontrol unitshouldbemountedon thedashboard or
at any othereasilyaccessible position. Now,thesubwoofer volume may beadjustedindependentlyfrom the settings attheradio.
5.6 OUTPUTSFORCONNECTINGADDITIONALAMPLIFIERS
The input signal of the INPUT connections INPUT L and R (1) is forwarded directly to the OUTPUT (6) L and R jacks. The OUTPUT
connections allow theuseof additional amplifiers without requiringadditionalT-plugsandcables.
FIG.1 POWERSUPPLY/REMOTESWITCH-ONCONNECTION
(1) GND terminal fortheground, to the battery’s minuspole
(2) REM terminal forremoteswitch-on
(3) Terminal for +12 Vbatteryvoltage
