8. To interrupt the charge, disconnect in sequence:
- the supply cable
- the negative conductor (-)
- the positive conductor (+)
9.1 FIRST START UP MODEL WITH STARTER (77007)
After following all the above instructions proceed as follows:
CHARGE
1. Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the nominal one of the battery
charger indicated on the plate.
2. Disconnect the cables connected to the positive pole (+) of the battery.
3. Untie the caps of the battery and check the level of the electrolytic liquid.
4. Connect the black cable to the negative attachment of the battery charger
5. Find out the voltage of the battery to be charged (12 or 24 V) and connect the
red cable to the corresponding attachment (+12 V) or (+24 V).
6. Connect in sequence:
- the red clamp to the positive pole (+)
- the black clamp to the frame of the car, away from the battery and from the
fuel pipe.
7. Start the battery charger; check the position which the indicator of the
ampmeter will acquire.
8. Adjust the charging current with the proper switch, to max. 10% of battery
power, with a max. of 40 ampere. Concerning the positions of the switch:
- Without timer: pos.1(low), 2 (medium) and 3 (high)
- With timer: 4(low), 5 (medium) and 6 (high)
9. Connect the input cable to the mains 230 V.
10. To interrupt the charge, disconnect in sequence:
- the supply cable
- the negative conductor (-)
- the positive conductor (+)
STARTER:
1. In case of very large engines and severe weather conditions, it is advisable to
give the battery a quick charge for a few minutes before you try to jump it (see
above charging instructions).
2. Contrary to the charging operations, during the starting process the battery
must remain connected to the vehicle and the caps must remain closed.
3. N.B. Attempts of starting with the battery charger preset in the “charge”
position (pos.1-6) may damage the ampmeter and trigger the thermal
protection.
4. N.B.* The operation of the battery charger in the “START” position should
possibly occur shortly after the ignition key of the vehicle has been turned on
and be interrupted as soon as the vehicle is started; otherwise the high current
