Q&A Troubleshooting
Recording (continued)
Several pictures are taken when I press the shutter release button just once.
The camera is set to use [Auto Bracket] or [Burst].
The focus setting is not correct.
The mode set is not appropriate for the distance to the subject. (The focus range varies according to
recording mode.)
The subject is outside of the focus range. (68)
This may be caused by camera shake or subject movement. (27)
The recorded pictures are blurred. The optical Image Stabilizer is ineffective.
The shutter speed is slower in dark locations and the Optical Image Stabilizer is less effective.
Hold the camera firmly with both hands, keeping your arms close to your body.
Use a tripod and the self-timer (70) when using slower shutter speed with [Min. Shtr Speed].
[Auto Bracket] cannot be used.
The remaining memory capacity is only enough for 2 pictures or fewer.
The recorded pictures appear coarse, or there is interference.
The ISO Sensitivity is high, or the shutter speed is low.
(Default [Sensitivity] setting is [AUTO] – interference may appear with indoor pictures.)
Reduce the [Sensitivity] (96).
Take the pictures in brighter locations.
The camera is set to [High Sens.] Scene mode.
(The picture becomes slightly coarser in response to high sensitivity)
Striping or flicker may appear under lighting such as fluorescent and LED
lighting.
This is a characteristic of MOS sensors like the one in this camera. This is not a
malfunction.
The brightness and the color of a recorded picture differ from reality.
When recording under fluorescent or LED lighting etc., increasing the shutter speed may introduce
slight changes to brightness and color. These are a result of the characteristics of the light source
and do not indicate a malfunction.
When recording subjects in extremely bright locations or recording under fluorescent lighting, LED
lighting, mercury lamps, sodium lighting etc., the colors and screen brightness may change or
horizontal striping may appear on the screen.
Reddish horizontal streaks appear on the monitor during recording.
This is characteristic of MOS sensors like the one in this camera. It appears when the subject has a
bright part. Some unevenness may occur in the surrounding areas, but this is not a malfunction. It is
recorded in motion pictures but not in still pictures.
It is recommended that you take pictures while taking care not to expose the screen to sunlight or
any other source of strong light.
