Thunderbolt 3 prioriteit aan de videostream, waarbij de vereiste bandbreedte wordt gereserveerd voor het

afspelen. Dit is een groot voordeel wanneer u werkt met hoogwaardige video en 3D-graphics.

Thunderbolt 3 maakt gebruik van een USB-C-aansluiting die speciaal is gemarkeerd met een bliksemschicht.

Aangezien Thunderbolt 3 is protocolagnostisch is, biedt het systeem ondersteuning voor aansluitingen via de

volgende interfaces:

USB 2.0, USB 3.0 en USB 3.1

DisplayPort 1.1 en 1.2a

Thunderbolt 20 Gb/s en Thunderbolt 40 Gb/s

Ethernet (met adapter)

Apparaten zonder Thunderbolt 3-ondersteuning maar met USB-C-poorten kunnen worden aangesloten op

de Thunderbolt 3 om een serieschakeling te beëindigen en de batterijen ervan kunnen, indien compatibel,

worden opgeladen via de stroomtoevoeroptie.
