Amp (AMP)
This section consists of the amp (AMP) and pan (PAN) settings. The
amp specifies the volume, and the pan specifies the stereo position
of the sound. You can also use envelope generator 2 (EG2) to vary
the volume over time.
Envelope generators (EG1, EG2)
An envelope generator applies time-variant change to parameters that
make up the sound. Each envelope generator defines the “shape” of
the time-variant change using four parameters: attack time, decay
time, sustain level, and release time. EG1 is assigned to control the
filter cutoff frequency, and EG2 is assigned to control the amp volume.
You are also free to use an envelope generator in conjunction with a
virtual patch as an envelope source for another parameter.
LFOs (LFO1, LFO2)
An LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) applies cyclic change to
parameters that make up the sound. Each timbre has two LFOs, each
giving you a choice of five waveforms. LFO2 is assigned as the
source of the pitch modulation controlled by the joystick. You are
also free to use an LFO in conjunction with a virtual patch as a
modulation source for another parameter.
Patch virtual (VIRTUAL PATCH)
La funcionalidad de patch virtual le permite no solo utilizar el EG o
el LFO sino también fuentes como la velocidad (intensidad al tocar
el teclado) y el seguimiento del teclado (la región del teclado que
toca) como fuentes de modulación para controlar los parámetros que
conforman el sonido. Esto le proporciona una enorme libertad para
crear sonidos originales. Para cada timbre, puede crear ajustes de
patch virtual para seis parámetros. (GP: “1. Parámetros de timbre”)
Efectos maestro (MASTER FX)
Cada programa contiene tres tipos de efecto maestro. Al aplicar un
efecto a cada timbre, puede añadir toques de acabado al sonido
general del programa.
Arpegiador (ARPEGGIATOR)
El arpegiador genera automáticamente un arpegio (acorde “roto”)
cuando mantiene pulsado un acorde en el teclado. Para los
programas que utilizan dos timbres, puede aplicar el arpegiador a
uno de ellos o a ambos. Este es un arpegiador de pasos con seis tipos
de arpegios.
2. Vocoder (VOCODER)
Un vocoder analiza las características de frecuencia de una señal
denominada el “modulador”(como la entrada de una voz humana a
través de un micrófono) y aplica dichas características a un filtro que
procesa una señal distinta llamada el “portador” (como una onda de
oscilador), produciendo efectos distintivos, como por ejemplo un
instrumento que parece que está hablando. El sistema KingKORG
contiene un vocoder de dieciséis bandas que no solo simula los
sonidos clásicos de los vocoder antiguos sino que también permite
crear sonidos de vocoder originales en los que se puede controlar el
carácter tonal o el nivel de cada banda. Tal como se muestra en la
ilustración siguiente, el vocoder está formado por el portador (la
señal que se modifica), el modulador (la señal que controla la
modificación) y la propia sección del vocoder (VOCODER).
