A. Installing / replacing the batteries
Open the battery compartment cover on the underside of the camera
and insert 2 x AA alkali batteries (when replacing exhausted batteries, first
switch off the power using the ON/OFF switch ). Always pay attention to the
symbols (plus /+ and minus /-) on the inside of the battery compartment
(refer to Fig. 1).
Note: Avoid unnecessary battery use and in particular close the lens cover
when you are not using the camera.
B. Installing the film
1) Switch the camera on – slide back the ON/OFF slide switch .
2) Open the camera back – slide the back cover lock downwards.
3) Place the film into the film chamber – see Fig. 2. Guide the film over the
spool and whilst doing this make sure that the film transport wheel
engages in the film perforations.
4) Now close the camera back again until you hear it engage with a click.
The frame counter shows "S".
5) Press the shutter release button three times, until the frame counter
shows "1". The camera is now ready for use.Note:The camera has an
automatic DX coding system. This system automatically sets the camera to
the correct speed for the installed film.

lash modes: Auto flash – the flash fires automatically if the lighting
conditions are poor
Fill-in flash – press the Flash-ON button for the flash to energise and fire
when taking a photograph even in good lighting conditions. This reduces the
contrast on the subject and lightens the shadows in backlight conditions.
Flash-off – press the Flash-OFF button to switch off the flash manually

Lens cover:
Protects the lens from dust etc. It operates with the ON/OFF slide
switch .Opening switches on the power and closing switches the power off
again. When the lens cover is closed, the shutter release button is locked
so that unintentional photographs cannot be taken.
