devraient aussi inscrire quelle composante parcourt la plus longue distance en une rotation. (La roue).
Posez-leur les questions suivantes :
(a) Devez-vous tourner la roue pour
faire tourner l’axe? Si oui, la machine
vous aide à accomplir un travail en
multipliant la force appliquée.
(b) Peut-être tournez-vous plutôt l’axe
pour faire pivoter la roue? Si oui, votre
machine vous aide à parcourir une
plus grande distance plus rapidement.
(c) Demandez aux étudiants de
décrire exactement comment
fonctionne le puits.
La roue, plus grande, parcourt une plus grande distance grâce
à un petit effort, alors que l’axe, plus petit, tourne sur une plus
petite distance, mais produit une plus grande force.
Le petit axe tourne sur une courte distance en utilisant un
plus grand effort, alors que la roue (plus grande) tourne sur
une plus grande distance en nécessitant un plus petit effort.
Les étudiants devraient découvrir qu’ils actionnent la
roue pour faire tourner l’axe.
Lorsque vous appliquez un effort en tournant la poignée,
la tige tourne pour enrouler la corde qui soulève le seau
(résistance ou charge). Cette machine simple facilite la
remontée du seau qui serait beaucoup plus difficile de faire
à la main.
