Cleaning and maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the metal lters
The grease lters must be cleaned
regularly. Increased grease deposits in
the lter can catch re and also spread
unpleasant odours.
Grease lters clogged with dirt particles
can seriously impair the function of the
appliance.
• Cleaning interval for metal grease l-
ters: every 2 - 3 weeks according to the
frequency of use.
• Remove the metal lters as shown in
the following illustration:
(Illustration may vary)
• Soak the metal grease lters well in
hot rinse water (min. 2-3 min.),
then clean them with a so brush and
then rinse well with hot water.
If necessary, repeat the process.
• When cleaning metal grease lters
take care not to damage the mesh.
• The metal grease lters can also be
cleaned in the dishwasher in a stan-
dard program with about 60 °C.
To avoid fatty deposits on dishes or
the accumulation of food particles in
the mesh of the lter, the metal lters
should be cleaned separately from di-
shes and glasses. Heavily soiled metal
lters should rst be soaked well in
hot rinse water.
• Allow the lter to dry thoroughly and
carefully replace it in the extractor
hood.
• Frequent cleaning or the use of ag-
gressive cleaning agents can cause
color changes of the metal surface.
These have no inuence on the lter
function and are not a reason for
complaint.

Avoid using alkaline cleaning agents
(ph value over 7).
5.2 Carbon lters
The carbon lter neutralises unpleasant
odours from the room air, which is nee-
ded when operating the extractor hood
in recirculation mode.
• Traditional carbon lters (normally
round in shape) can be neither
washed nor regenerated.
They must be replaced.
• Replacement interval for carbon lters:
every 9 - 12 months according to fre-
quency of use.
• To remove the activated carbon lter
see installation chapter; assembly in
reverse order.
