CAUTION
Sharp cutting blade
Incision injuries
Wear protective gloves when working on the cutting
blade.
1. Mount the blade guard.

2. Place the device on a flat surface.
3. Press the handle lock.

The handle for adjusting the cutting angle is un-
locked.
4. Press the handle for setting the cutting angle.

5. Adjust the angle between the shaft and hedge trim-
mer.
6. Release the handle for setting the cutting angle.
Make sure that the handle engages in a notch.
7. Release the handle lock.
The handle for setting the cutting angle is locked.
8. Remove the blade guard.

Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when work-
ing on the device.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to uncontrolled movements of the
device
Always hold the device firmly with both hands.
Always wear the carrying belt.
1. Check the cutting material for foreign bodies, such
as film, wires, stones or posts, and remove them as
necessary.
2. Remove the blade guard.

4. Trim the hedge.

Ending operation
1. Remove the battery pack from the device (see oper-
ating manual Multi-Tool MT 36 Bp).
2. Clean the device (see Chapter Cleaning the de-
vice).
Disassembling the Multi-Tool
1. Disconnect the accessories from the Multi-Tool (see
Multi-Tool MT 36 Bp operating instructions).

CAUTION
Failure to observe the weight

Be aware of the weight of the device during transporta-
tion.
WARNING
Uncontrolled startup
Incision injuries
With the Multi-Tool assembled, remove the battery pack
from the device before transporting it.
Transport the device only with the blade guard fitted.
Secure the device against slipping and tipping over
when transporting in vehicles.
Storage
Always clean the device before putting it into storage
(see Chapter Cleaning the device).
CAUTION
Risk of injury and damage!
The device may tip over on sloping surfaces.
Be aware of the weight of the device during storage.

With the Multi-Tool assembled, remove the battery pack
from the device before storage.
Store the device only with the blade guard fitted.
1. Remove the carrying belt.
2. Disassemble the Multi-Tool if necessary (see oper-

3. Store the device in a dry, well ventilated location.
Keep away from corrosive substances such as gar-
den chemicals and defrosting salt. Do not store the
device outdoors.

Cleaning the device
1. Use a brush to remove any dirt and debris from the
blade.

2. Clean the shaft with a soft, dry cloth.

Checking the blade screw connection
CAUTION
Loose screw connections
Incision injuries through uncontrolled blade movements
Check the screw connection of the blade regularly to en-
sure it is firmly fastened.

1. Check that all screws/nuts are tight.
2. Tighten any loose screws/nuts.
Oiling the blade sections
In order to maintain the blade quality, the blade sections
should be oiled after each use.
Note
Using thin machine oil or spray oil will yield very good
results.

2. Apply oil to the top of the blade sections.
Note
You will improve the result if, after applying the oil, you
briefly start up the Multi-Tool so that the oil spreads out
in the gaps (see operating manual Multi-Tool MT 36 Bp).
