Sandwich function
Insert the sandwich plates (7) in the appliance and close the lid.
Turn the thermostat knob (3) to the 190° setting.
Prepare your sandwich while the unit is heating.
When the temperature light goes out, fully open the appliance. Place a slice of bread in
the bottom half with the buttered side against the plate.
Fill the sandwich.
Add the top slice with the buttered side up and carefully close the appliance. Do not
force shut. Steam will be ejected from between the plates; make sure that fingers do not
come into contact with it.
Lock the two halves by pressing the lid down till it clicks.
Your sandwich will be toasted in 3 to 5 min or longer to suit your taste. Open the appliance
and remove sandwich using a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use a metal knife as this
may damage the non-stick coating.
Close the lid to preserve the heat until you are ready to toast the next sandwiches.
Prepare additional sandwiches if desired while the others are cooking.
Put the heat selector knob in “MIN” position and unplug the appliance when finished.
Leave it open to allow it to cool down.
Grill function
Insert the grill plates (9) in the appliance. Make sure you put the grill plate with the grease
draining hole on the bottom of the appliance.
Slide the grease collecting tray (8) between the front feet of the appliance so that it ends
up below the grease draining hole. A small tab located underneath the appliance will
block it in position. The tray is not fitted together with the appliance, so make sure you do
not lift the appliance while cooking.
Turn the thermostat knob to the MAX position.
Lightly brush grids with butter, margarine or cooking oil to avoid that the foods stick to the
plates.
When the appliance has reached the desired temperature, it is, when the ready light goes
out, open it and put the ingredients on the grill plate. Make sure the foods are not too
thick, so that you can close the appliance. The cooking time depends on the type of food
you are grilling. To avoid burning the ingredients, check regularly during the cooking
process.
When grilling is finished, put the thermostat knob in “MIN” position, unplug the appliance
and leave it open to allow it to cool down.
CLEANING
Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance and the plates to cool down.
Wipe the outside with only a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil or
grease enters the cooling slots.
To clean the plates we advise you to take them out of the appliance. To do so, slide the
release buttons towards the plates and take out the baking plates.
If you remove them from the appliance, you can wash them under running water.
However, if you let them in the appliance, wipe the plates with a damp cloth or towel. Dry
them afterwards. Never place the plates into the dishwasher.
Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this will
damage the non-stick coating.
Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
