BEFORE USE
The opening speed of the product may need to be adjusted to ensure it opens smoothly at a
controlled speed. The knob (11) on the outside end of the right hand side hinge should be
turned clockwise to reduce the speed or anticlockwise to increase the speed at which the
product opens. The printed symbols are a reminder for the direction to turn it when adjusting
the knob.
USE
Before plugging in the appliance, put the thermostat knob in "MIN" position.
To open the appliance, press the opening button (4).
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth, then dry.
To remove the baking plates, slide the release buttons (5) towards the plates and take out
the baking plates.
Place the desired plates in the appliance by inserting the plate locking lugs (6) in the plate
locking openings and press on the plates till you hear a click.
Close the appliance and plug it in. The red power light will come on, indicating that the
appliance is live. In off position, the ready light will be out, but as soon as you choose the
desired setting, it will come on, until the desired temperature is reached.
The appliance is fitted with a thermostat knob, which allows you to select the ideal
temperature for each plate set. The following settings can be selected:
MIN OFF position
150° Keep warm function
170° Preheating
190° Sandwich
MAX Grill
Turn the thermostat knob (3) to the desired position. You may season the plates with butter,
margarine or cooking fat. Since the appliance has a non-stick coated surface, the use of
butter or oil is optional.
Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful.
The ready light will go out when the cooking temperature is reached. During use, this
ready light will come on and off regularly. This simply means that the thermostat is
regulating the appliance's temperature.
WARNING: WHEN THE APPLIANCE IS IN USE, THE BAKING PLATES AS WELL AS THE METAL PARTS
OF THE TOP COVER WARM UP AND CAN REACH A HIGH TEMPERATURE. DO NOT TOUCH
THEM!
!! TO AVOID BURNS, WAIT UNTIL THE APPLIANCE HAS TOTALLY COOLED DOWN BEFORE
CHANGING THE PLATES.
Keep warm function
This function can be used to keep the food warm after the cooking time has elapsed, for
example, if your second sandwich is ready while you are still eating the first one.
