The batteries should be replaced when the low-battery indicator
of the respective unit appears on the rain gauge.
Note: All memories will be reset when the batteries are
replaced.
Low battery warning
When it is necessary to replace the batteries in the collector or
the rain gauge, the low-battery indicator for the respective unit
(IN/OUT) will show on the display of the rain gauge.
Change the batteries in the rain gauge if IN is displayed and the
batteries in the collector if OUT is displayed.
Note: When changing batteries you should always follow the
steps described in the section Before you begin.
Getting started
Once the batteries are installed in the collector, the collector will
start to transmit rainfall readings at approx. 90 seconds intervals.
The rain gauge will search for signals for about four minutes,
once the batteries are installed.
If no signals are received, NO SIGNAL will be displayed. Press
and hold the SEARCH button in the battery compartment for
two seconds in order to enforce another search. This is useful
in synchronising the transmission and reception of the collector
and the rain gauge.
Setting time and date

hold the TIME/SET button for two seconds in order to set the
time (HH:MM). Set the time by using the
V
V buttons in the
battery compartment - hold for quick scrolling. Confirm the set
time by pressing TIME/SET and continue with the year followed
by the date (DD:MM). Press again to confirm and revert to
stand-by mode.
Select between mm/inch
Select the measuring unit millimeters or inches by using the mm/
Inch button in the battery compartment.
Mounting
When a clear signal is obtained, the rain gauge and the collector
can be mounted. When mounting the collector make sure that
the surface is plane and even:
1. Remove the top of the collector.
2. Remove the fiber tape from the rocker arm in the center of
the collector.
3. Use the metal rings on the screws to adjust the leveling.
4. Put some drops of water into the cross at the base of the
collector in order to check if the level is plane: If the water
stays at level 1 - 4 (fig. 1) the collector is not plane. If the
water stays as indicated in fig. 2 the collector is plane and
correctly mounted.
