Congratulations on the purchase of your new JACOB
JENSEN
TM
Rain Gauge with remote collector. The rain gauge is designed
in Denmark by Jacob Jensen, whose products have gained
international recognition for their original, simple and classic
design. Jacob Jensen has received around 100 prizes from
around the world and has 19 products included in the Design
Study Collection and The Design Collection of The Museum of
Modern Art in New York.
The JACOB
JENSEN
TM
Rain Gauge is an easy-to-use, state-of-
the-art rain gauge. The package includes a main unit, the rain
gauge, and a remote unit, the collector.
The rain gauge can either stand on its own or it can be mounted
directly on the wall using a JACOB
JENSEN
TM
Mounting Plate.
The rain gauge can also be mounted on a JACOB
JENSEN
TM
Weather station Stand, on its own or with one or more products
from the JACOB
JENSEN
TM
Weather station Range.
The rain gauge is capable of monitoring the daily rainfall and
the total rainfall since last reset. It has a memory for a nine-day
rainfall history and for an alarm at a given rainfall. No wiring is
required between the rain gauge and the collector.
Before you begin
1. Install the batteries in the collector before installing batteries
in the rain gauge.
2. Place the collector as close as possible to the rain gauge
and then reset the collector (press the RESET button) after
installing/replacing the batteries. This will ensure easier
synchronisation between the transmission and reception of
signals. The synchronisation may take up to four minutes.
3. After synchronisation, position the remote collector and rain
gauge within the effective transmission range which, under
normal circumstances, is up to 20 - 30 metres.
Important: It is very important that the collector is placed on
an absolutely even and plane surface e.g. a wooden platform
on which you can mount the collector using the four screws in
the corners. The effective range is greatly affected by building
materials and the relative positions of the collector and rain
gauge. Try different set-ups for best results.
New purchases using the same frequency (433 MHz) may
interfer with the signal of the rain gauge and the collector.
Replace either the rain gauge or the new purchase.
