escape. Then remove the cap by unscrewing it completely.
• Empty the boiler of any residual water. Pour the water only when the boiler is empty.
• Place a funnel on the lling opening and pour the water.
ATTENTION: Do not pour more than 500 cc (0.5 l.) of water. Never exceed this amount!
Remove the funnel.
• Replace the cap by turning it clockwise until it is screwed in completely.
UNPLUG THE IRONING SYSTEM
ATTENTION! The ironing system is turned off and safe only after carrying out the following operations:
Turn off the switch (1) for heating the boiler and the switch (2) for heating the iron.
Remove the plug from the wall socket and let the machine cool down.
CHOICE OF IRONING TEMPERATURE
• First, check whether the garment to be ironed has a label with ironing instructions.
• Always follow these instructions.
• Iron garments to which particular nishes have been applied (rufes, raised, shiny
applications, etc...) at lower temperatures.
• Select the items to be ironed according to the type of fabric: wool with wool, cotton with
cotton etc... The iron takes less time to heat up than it takes to cool down, consequently it
is advisable to start ironing the items that require a lower temperature, for example those
in synthetic bers.
• If the garment is made up of different types of fabric, always select the lowest temperature
that the type of ber requires (e.g. a garment made up of “60% polyester and 40% cotton”
must be ironed at the temperature indicated for polyester and without the use of steam).
• If you do not know the type of fabric the article is made of, carry out an ironing test on a
small hidden area of the garment and nd the most suitable temperature for that garment
(try starting from a low temperature).
• It is possible to press the iron on pure wool garments (100% wool) by setting it to the
“steam” position.
• It is advisable to set the steam knob to maximum and use a dry cloth for pressing.
• When steam ironing wool garments, the garment may have a shiny effect. This inconvenience
can be prevented by turning the garment inside out and ironing it on the inside. Velvet and
other fabrics that tend to have shiny spots should only be ironed in one direction (following
the direction of the pile) applying little pressure on the garment.
• Always keep the iron moving over the fabric, do not leave the iron stationary on the same
area of the fabric.
• Silk and other fabrics that become shiny easily should be ironed from the inside out.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION! Before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning operation, remove the plug
from the socket and wait for the boiler to cool down adequately.
• Pour tap water into the boiler and rinse to remove any limescale residues. Repeat this
operation even after a long period of unuse to eliminate stagnant water.
• Empty the residual water from the boiler. The water remaining in the boiler can form
limescale deposits.
• Clean the body of the appliance with a damp cloth.
• Do not use solvents, they could damage the plastic parts of the appliance.
