Coal burns at a high temperature and makes a lot of soot. Coal must be burned

using the coal insert. A ﬁ ring manual for ﬁ ring with coal is delivered together

with the coal insert.

Coke burns at a high temperature and makes a lot of soot. Coke must be burned

using the coal insert. Coke causes severe wear and tear to stove

and combustion chamber and, consequently, this considerably

reduces the life expectancy of the stove and chimney.

Coke is remarkable for having a very useful output (8000 Kcal./kg) and for the

output being almost free of gases and for the ﬁ re burning evenly and calmly.

When ﬁ ring with coke, the secundary damper in the door can be closed almost

completely down (because of the low contents of gas in coke).

If the automatic air ﬂ ow regulating system is regulated down, you will get a

combustion being very constantly and being able to last for a long time.

The stove is DS-approved for ﬁ ring wood only. No particle board, lacquered,

painted or treated wood, plastics, or rubber may be burned.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Any maintenance of the stove should only be carried out when it is cold. Daily maintenance

is limited to vacuum cleaning the stove externally, using the soft brush attachment. You can

also dust the stove using a dry, soft cloth or brush, but on a cold stove only. Once a year, the

stove should be thoroughly serviced. The combustion chamber should be cleared of ashes

and soot. Door and ﬁ ttings should be lubricated using a copper-based grease.

Clearing

Prior to sweeping, dismount the bafﬂ e plate and the smoke shelf, so that soot and ashes

can be swept down freely into the combustion chamber. After the sweeping, the combustion

chamber is cleaned, and the bafﬂ e plate and the smoke shelf are re-mounted (vertical view

A at cover) It is very important for the function of the stove that these are mounted correctly.

• Turn the smoke shelf (1) 90° and edge it out.

• The smoke plate (2) is lifted a little upwards. The under edge is pulled forward free yof the

holder (6). Then it is edged out.

• The plates are re-mounted in opposite order.

Ashes

The ash pan is best emptied by pulling a rubbish bag over the pan, tipping it and then carefully

pulling it out of the bag. Ashes are disposed of via the domestic rubbish collection.

Please note that there may be embers in the ashes for up to 24 hours after the ﬁ re has

gone out!

Insulation

The efﬁ cient, but porous insulation of the combustion chamber may, in time, become worn

and damaged. Cracks in the insulation have no effect on the efﬁ ciency of the stove. The in-

sulation should be replaced, however, when due to wear and tear it is reduced to less than
