Function Buttons
Stitch Re-start
When having stopped sewing in the middle of a stitch,
touch Re-start to start sewing at the beginning of
the stitch again without having to re-set any special
settings you have made.
IN EMBROIDERY MODE: Used for easy bobbin access, see
page 3-7.
STOP
STOP is used to conclude a stitch. Your Designer SE
Limited Edition À xes the thread and stops automatically
when one stitch or stitch program has been
completed. The button lights up when you touch it.
STOP is cancelled when you touch the button again or
by selecting a new stitch. The button light will go out.
The STOP function can be programmed, see page
2-14.
IN EMBROIDERY MODE: Used for one color embroidery, see
page 3-7.
Fix
FIX is used to tie off a stitch and is automatically
activated when a stitch is selected or when the Selective
Thread Cutter has been used. At the beginning, your
Designer SE Limited Edition sews a few tie-off stitches
and goes on with the selected stitch. Touch FIX while
sewing – Designer SE Limited Edition sews a few tie-
off stitches and stops automatically. The button lights
up when the FIX function is active. By touching the lit
button the function can be turned off. The FIX function
can be programmed (see page 2-14).
IN EMBROIDERY MODE: Touch to baste an outline of the
embroidery area (see page 3-7).
NOTE: Automatic FIX can be cancelled in the Set Menu (see
page 1-25).
Selective Thread Cutter
Touch the button and your Designer SE Limited
Edition cuts the top and bobbin threads, raises the
presser foot and the needle, and activates the FIX
function. To cut before the needle moves to the start
position of next stitch, touch Selective Thread Cutter
while sewing. The button starts Á ashing, indicating that
a cut is requested. The Selective Thread Cutter function
can be programmed, see page 2-14.
NOTE: Designer SE Limited Edition cuts automatically after
Sensor buttonhole stitches. Automatic Selective Thread
Cutter can be cancelled in the Set Menu, see page 1-25.
IN EMBROIDERY MODE: Cuts top and bobbin threads and
raises presser foot. Top thread only is cut automatically at
the color change. When the design is À nished both top and
bobbin threads are cut automatically.
Needle Stop Up/Down
Touch this button to move the needle down or up.
The set ting of the needle stop po si tion is changed
at the same time. The set needle stop position is
indicated by an up or down arrow next to the needle
recommendation on screen. You can also tap the foot
control to raise or lower needle.
IN EMBROIDERY MODE: Used for park position and easy
thread trims (see page 3-8).
Speed
Touch
+ SPEED or ñ SPEED to increase or decrease
the sewing speed. Touch when not sewing and a pop-up
window on the screen indicates the speed set ting. You
can also set the speed by touching the slider in the pop-
up. You can change the speed set ting while sewing but
no pop-up will appear. All stitches in your Designer SE
Limited Edition have a pre-set, recommended sewing
speed. When you select a stitch, your Designer SE
Limited Edition automatically sets the best sewing speed
for that stitch.
