5.1 Input Channel Section
1.
MIC INPUTS
Female XLR connector for almost any type of microphone, such as dynamic, ribbon and
condenser microphones.
2.
MONO LINE INPUTS
These ¼” jacks share circuitry with the microphone inputs but do not feature phantom power.
They are suited for balanced or unbalanced sources.
Connection of a balanced source: use a ¼” mono phone plug, wired as follows:
tip = positive (+ or hot)
ring = negative (- or cold)
sleeve = shield or ground
Connection of an unbalanced source: use a ¼” mono phone plug, wired as follows:
tip = positive (+ or hot)
sleeve = shield or ground
3.
GAIN CONTROL
The gain knob adjusts the sensitivity of the microphone inputs. This allows you to adjust the
incoming signals.
The signal remains unmodified when the knob is turned fully CCW and amplified to 60 dB
when the knob is turned fully CW.
4.
AUX SEND
The signal from the auxiliary send is often connected to a stage monitor.
5.
FX SEND
The signal from the auxiliary send is often connected to an outboard effects unit (e.g. reverb)
and then returned to the mixer. This allows effects to be added to an audio source or channel.
6.
CHANNEL EQ
All channels have 3-band EQ with high, mid and low filters.
HIGH EQ
The high EQ provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut above 12 kHz and is also flat (no boost or
cut) at the detent.
MID EQ
The mid EQ provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut above 2.5 kHz and is also flat (no boost or
cut) at the detent.
LOW EQ
The low EQ provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut below 80 Hz and is also flat (no boost or cut)
at the detent.
