IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Installation location
Place the device on a flat, sturdy and heat-resistant surface.
Put the device in a place which is out of reach of children.
Do not operate this device near flammable materials (e.g. curtains, textiles, walls) and never cover it. Ensure
that there is always a sufficient safe distance from flammable materials.
Use this device in dry indoor areas only and never outdoors.
Warning: Do not use this device near water or heavy moisture; e.g. in a damp basement or beside a
swimming pool or bathtub.
In order to reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not expose the device to fire (fireplace, grill, candles,
cigarettes and so on) or water (water drops, water splashes, vases, tubs, ponds and so on).
Keep this device away from all heat sources like for example, ovens, hot plates and other heat-producing
devices/objects.
Protect this device from extreme heat (over 35°C) and cold (under 5°C) as well as from direct sunlight and
dust.
Specific safety instructions
Attention! Only switch on the deep fryer once it has been filled with oil or fat. If you put this device into
operation when empty, it could become damaged.
Do not move or transport this device if it is filled with hot oil/fat. There is a danger of burning from splattering
oil/fat. Wait until the oil/fat has cooled off completely.
Danger of burns! The temperature of the surfaces which can be touched can become very hot. Never
touch the hot surfaces of the device (e.g. viewing window, metal parts).
Hot steam rises and escapes through the steam outlet in the lid during frying. Keep hands and face at a safe
distance from the steam and open the lid with special caution. Never cover the steam outlets.
Avoid contact of water and/or ice with oil or fat. This leads to strong splattering or foaming of oil/fat during
frying. Dab moist foods dry with a paper towel and remove ice from frozen foods. Make sure that all parts of
the deep fryer are dry before putting the oil/fat into the device.
The oil or fat level in the deep fryer vat must be between the MIN and MAX markings (inside).
Use only oil or fat that is suitable for frying.
Do not mix different types of oil or fat because it can cause the deep fryer to overflow.
Never overfill the frying basket with food and do not place any cutlery or kitchen tools in the device.
Do not put plastic cutlery into hot fat. Do not fill hot fat into a plastic container. It could melt.
Attention! Change the oil/fat at regular intervals. Old or contaminated oil could ignite itself if overheated.
Make sure that there are not any flammable items above or near the device. If the oil/fat ignites, pull the plug
immediately and close the lid in order to smother the flames. Never pour water into hot or burning oil/fat.
To avoid or reduce acrylamide, we recommend that foods be fried until they are golden yellow rather than
dark or brown and that burnt residues be removed. Fry starchy foods, especially grain and potato products,
at a maximum of 170°C.
Unplug the device after use and let the oil/fat cool off sufficiently before inserting or removing accessories
and before cleaning or storing the device.
Do not cover or store the device when it is hot. Unplug it first and let it cool off completely in a safe place
which is out of the reach of children.
Clean the device and other accessories after each use. Refer to the Chapter CLEANING AND CARE.
