Cooking methods
Stirring and turning
WARNING
Risk of burns!
Food is sometimes heated up unevenly
in the microwave. The containers also
do not usually get as hot as the food.
It is therefore important to carefully
check the temperature of food with
the utmost care, especially for chil-
dren.
Make absolutely sure to thoroughly
stir or shake the baby food after heat-
ing; then immediately check the tem-
perature of the baby food!
Baby food in particular must be thorough-
ly stirred to prevent burns. Make sure to
check the temperature by tasting the food.
Make sure to completely cook poultry, food
with fresh egg, and dishes which need to
be warmed up to ensure that all pathogens
(such as salmonella) are completely killed.
Stirring and turning the food after half the
cooking time is particularly important be-
cause the food in the microwave oven is
not heated up evenly.
Your microwave multi-function appliance of-
fers you different cooking methods. To help
you choose the right function for the desired
food, here are some examples of use.
Microwave
The microwave without additional functions is
well suited for the preparation of:
Stews, soups, sauces
Meat without crusts
Steamed fish
Vegetables
Side dishes (rice, boiled potatoes, some
pasta)
Hot drinks
Defrosting small portions
Grill
The grill is located on the cooking compart-
ment ceiling. It is used to quickly brown dish-
es and cook them au gratin.
Food to be grilled with a short cooking time
should be grilled with this function. With the
combination function (microwave + grill) this
cookware would be cooked before it would be
sufficiently browned.
Use the grill for the following: Steaks, chops,
sausages, sandwiches or gratins.
Multi-function mode:
Microwave + grill
In the microwave + grill multi-function mode,
you can cook food quickly and produce a
nice crust at the same time. This shortens the
preparation times enormously.
The combination of grill and microwave is
well suited for:
Gratins, casseroles
Fish
Thicker pieces of meat with a higher fat
content
Poultry (chicken, duck, turkey)
Baked potatoes
Baked toasts
Gratinated soups
