5.14 Nasveti za shranjevanje svežih živil
5.14.1 Shranjevanje v hladilnik
Temperatura v hladilniku naj bo manj kot 5 °C.
Vročo hrano je treba pred shranjevanjem v aparatu ohladiti na sobno temperaturo.
Živila, ki jih želite shranjevati v hladilniku, je treba pred shranjevanjem oprati in posušiti
Živila, ki jih želite shranjevati, morajo biti pravilno zaprta, da se izognete spremembam
vonja ali okusa.
Ne shranjujte prevelikih količin hrane. Med posameznimi živili pustite nekaj mesta, da jih
obda hladen zrak, s čimer dosežete boljše in bolj homogeno hlajenje.
Živila, ki jih uporabljate vsak dan, je treba hraniti na sprednji strani police.
Med posameznimi živili in notranjimi stenami pustite nekaj mesta, s čimer omogočite
pretok zraka. Zlasti pa ne shranjujte živil ob zadnji steni: hrana lahko primrzne na zadnjo
steno. Izogibajte se neposrednemu stiku hrane (zlasti mastne ali kisle hrane) z notranjo
oblogo, saj lahko olje/kislina uniči notranjo oblogo. Očistite mastno/kislo umazanijo,
kadarkoli jo najdete.
Zamrznjena živila lahko nežno odmrznete v hladilniku. Tako prihranite energijo.
Postopek staranja sadja in zelenjave, kot so bučke, melone, papaja, banana, ananas itd.,
se lahko v hladilniku pospeši. Zato jih ni priporočljivo hraniti v hladilniku. Zorenje močno
zelenih plodov pa za nekaj časa lahko pospešite. Tudi čebulo, česen, ingver in drugo
korenovko je treba hraniti pri sobni temperaturi.
Neprijetni vonji v hladilniku so znak, da se je nekaj razlilo in da je potrebno čiščenje.
