Take a card from the pile with the pictures face down, uncover it and put

it face up in front of you. Take a look at it together.

Think what is represented there and if there are different words for it.

Important: You will be able to move your vehicle on as many squares

as syllables in the word you name. So, terms with many syllables will

make your vehicle advance rapidly.

Although, that will not always be necessary (see squares of capitals) …

Example 1:

The term “motorway” has three syllables.

As you say “mo/tor/way” you can move your vehicle on three squares.

If however you say “road”, the term only has 1 syllable and your vehicle

can move on only 1 square.

Example 2:

“Po/lice/man” = 3 squares ahead

“Man” = 1 square ahead

Best say the word once out loud, then all clap your hands together while

you repeat the word: one clap for each syllable.

Important:

•The term used should only be one word.

• All players should agree that the word can be used.

• Each player decides on their own how to name the motifs. Of course,

if you want, you can help each other by making suggestions.

Hint: You could agree that the term you use only describes part of the

motif.

Example:

bicycle = 3 squares

wheel = 1 square

Then you move your vehicle on, in any direction, according to the number

of squares.

The rules are:

• Move your vehicle exactly the number of squares as the word has syll-

ables.

•You can’t move forwards and backwards in the same form.

•There can be different vehicles on one square.
