Habermaaß Game nr. 4589
Syllable-Rally
An educational game for 2 - 4 ages 5 to 12.
In a playful way, the players together broaden their vocabulary, practice the
structure of syllables and the rhythm of words.

Length of the game: 15 minutes approx.
Lets start with the zippy tour straight across Europe! The children travel by
train, car, plane or boat and try to visit, as quickly as possible, four of five
European capitals in order to collect postcards.
It is however not so easy to move on as it doesn’t depend just on throwing
the dice. Only the one who carefully looks at the pictures and proves to
have enough imagination in describing them, will reach their aim…
Contents:
1 game board
4 vehicles (plane, train, car, boat)
80 picture cards
20 postcards (5x4 cards)
1 set of game instructions
Aim of the game:
Whoever is imaginative and eloquent in describing the motifs on the pictu-
re cards, will be the first to collect four different postcards.
Preparation of the game:
Spread the game board in the center of the table.
The 20 postcards are sorted by their color. All of each color are put in a
pile and the piles left ready for the game.
Put the 80 picture cards face down, shuffle them well and place them
ready to be used in a pile next to the game board.
Each player chooses a vehicle and puts it on the big starting square of the
game board.
If there are more than 4 players, they should play together in groups of
more or less equal number.
How to play:
Play in a clockwise direction.
Whoever can name on request any capital and the corresponding country
(for example Paris/ France) may start. If you can’t agree, the youngest play-
er starts.
