Aim of the game

The witches try to collect as many mushrooms of the right color in their

own cauldron and, by cheating, put mushrooms of other colors into the

cauldron of the others.

This has to be done inconspicuously, otherwise the other witches become

suspicious.

Preparation

Take all the material out of the box and put the bottom part of the box in

the center of the table. Place the witch’s kitchen onto the cardbord strips

in such a way that the colored cauldrons coincide with the corresponding

color areas of the box.

Each player gets a screen and puts it in front of them.

The four witches’ tiles are put face down. Each player gets one, looks at

her without letting the others see and hides her behind the screen. The

color of the witch indicates which is one’s cauldron.

If there are less than four players, the extra witches’ tiles (watch out:

without looking at them) and screens are put aside.

The mushrooms are put face down, shuffled, dealt out equally among the

players and placed behind the screens.

Get the witch dice, the cooking spoon, the magic potion and the salt

cellar ready.

How to play

Play in a clockwise direction. The player who has eaten mushrooms most

recently starts and throws the dice. Nobody remembers when they last

ate mushrooms? Then it’s the youngest player who starts.

• What color appears on the dice?

You have to throw a mushroom into the cauldron of the correspond-

ing color.Take a mushroom and put it face down on the cooking

spoon. Guide the spoon carefully to the cauldron and let the

mushroom slip from the spoon into the cauldron.

Important: In reality only mushrooms of the corresponding

color should be put into each cauldron.

But you can always bluff a little because this pot is not yours and you

want to cheat another witch into a wrong mushroom.

Sometimes you even have to cheat because you don’t have any mush-

rooms of a suitable color.
