Game 1: Quickly,Turtle, Be Quick!
Who will be best at rolling their turtle, thereby collecting the most animal
cards?
Game Material Needed:
One turtle per player, game board, the 9 animal cards
Preparation of the Game
Spread the game board with the glade stadium face up on the table.The
players take the bodies of the turtles and put the corresponding colored
shell on it. Shuffle the nine animal cards and put them in a pile face
down.
How to Play
Play in a clockwise direction. The youngest player starts.
They choose a racetrack and put their turtle on the corresponding
starting square.Then they choose an animal card from the top of the pile.
This card indicates up to which spectators’ square (= whole row) the
turtles should be rolled toward.
Roll your turtle trying to reach that square.
The turtle stays where it landed until all players have their turn.
It may happen that turtles standing still will be nudged on by following
turtles – that is allowed.
When all players have had their turn, do the scoring.
Scoring
• Are one or more turtles touching or standing on the corres-
ponding spectator square?
Well done! As a reward the player whose turtle is furthest ahead on
the corresponding square, gets the animal card.
• No turtle touches the square?
Then the player whose turtle is closest to the corresponding square,
gets the card.
• Has a turtle rolled past the square in question or even past the
edge of the game board?
The corresponding player doesn’t win an animal card in this round. If
all turtles have rolled past the edge of the game board, no player gets
an animal card. The card is taken off the game and a new round
starts.
After scoring the players take back their turtles.
