Third game possibility: the jigsaw

For 1 player ages 4+ and an adult to read out loud.

Aim of the game

Who will be able to assemble the jigsaw and find the 10 differences?

Preparation

The wooden pieces, the bear reflector, the shoelace and dice are not needed and stay in the box.

Place the game board on the table. Prepare all the jigsaw pieces and the picture-base next to it.

How to play

The child assembles the jigsaw on the picture base.

Then they compare the finished jigsaw with the picture on the game board and search for the

10 differences.

The 10 solutions are also hidden in the story to be read out loud:

It’s Laura’s first day at kindergarten. Her mother is taking her to the kindergarten and she is so

excited that she couldn’t sleep the whole night before. At the beginning she is astonished to see

so many children and new things, but Laura quickly gets acquainted and feels confident.

While the nursery school teacher hangs Laura’s bag and jacket in the wardrobe (1st difference),

Jack already wants to show her his favorite game (2).

Little Sonia has been diligently drawing and pins the picture she has just finished to the door (3).

Anna, Sandra, Tom, Michael and David have just finished their breakfast and think about what

they are going to play (4).

“Raise the curtains!” is Lisa and Mark’s motto, as they present the fairy tale “Punch’s

adventures” (5). Lucy squeezes her much loved teddy (6) and watches the grand

performance (7). Very skilfully Sarah constructs a very high tower with the little building

blocks (8). “Step in everybody, the train is leaving! ” Andrew shouts, as today he is the

engine driver (9).

Outside the sun is shining and Lenny is riding the see-saw in the garden (10).

In the meantime Laura has come to really like the kindergarten and is looking forward

to her next day.

Variation

If your child already has some practice at doing jigsaws, he or she can assemble the pieces

without the picture base on the game board. That will be quite difficult, as there are several

differences between the picture and the jigsaw pieces.
