This manual contains safety and operating instructions. Read it carefully before using the charger for the rst time and keep it in a
safe place for any future reference.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Batium is designed to:
. charge liquid or gel electrolyte lead-acid batteries from 35 Ah to 350 Ah in 6V, 12V or 24V (3 elements 2V – 6 elements 2V – 12
elements 2V).
. charge lead traction batteries from 35 Ah to 180 Ah in 6V, 12V or 24V (3 elements 2V – 6 elements 2V – 12 elements 2V).
CONNECTION AND OPERATION
Follow the connection instruction as below.
Precaution: Check electrolyte level of the battery. Fill out it necessary before charging.
1.Connect the charger on a 230V mains.
2.Switch on the device. A chain of lights will enlighten the screen.
3.Select the charging curve (IUoU for automotive batteries, IUIo for traction batteries). To select IUIo press 5
seconds.
4.Select the battery voltage (6V, 12V, 24V) according to the indications written on your battery or to the coupling
done. (in series or parallel see P23).
5.Select the charging speed according to your battery capacity (Ah) written on your battery.
6.Connect the clamps : Red clamp on the battery +and black clamp on the – or plug the specic connector (see
IUIo charging function)
7.Before starting the charge, Batium performs the following operations :
a- battery analysis: voltage/ battery condition… (In case of any anomalies, Batium mentions it - see anomalies, rea-
sons, remedies subdivisions). b- Restores the battery when the voltage is too low.
8.Batium starts the charging and indicates the charging stage as well as the charging current (A).
9.When the battery is charged, switch the device o.
10. Disconnect the power cable.
11.Unplug the clamps or the battery connector.
Nb: between each use or after a power cut, BATIUMsaves the last settings used and will position itself back on the last voltage,
speed and charging curve selected. (except for SOS Recovery mode which is not memorized).
CHARGING FUNCTION IUOU
This function enables to charge automotive liquid or gel electrolyte lead batteries from 35 Ah to 350 Ah and from light
to heavy vehicle. Find below the charging process :
