Mulchen – mulching
Sammeln – collecting
Mähen - cutting
Auswerfen - ejecting
Cutting and mulching
With the mulching wedge being inserted, grass is not ejected
but it is ground by the cutting knives and the grass remains on
the lawn as surface fertilisation (side ejection must be closed).
Cutting and collecting
The grass is collected to the grass catcher (catcher capacity
is reduced if the grass is damp or wet). To mount the catcher
to the mower, lift the cover plate and fit the grass catcher.
Cutting (without grass catcher)
The cut grass is laid in strips.
Cutting (side ejection)
The cut grass is laid in strips. Lift the side flap and fit the side
ejection hooks to the side flap axis. Then, let the side flap
down and make sure the side ejection is fitted properly.
Changeover to "mulching"
Assembly and disassembly of accessories must always
take place when the engine is off.
Assembly
Insert the mulching wedge to the ejection channel and lock it
in a way so that it is secured by the self-securing hook.
Please make sure the mulching wedge is fitted tightly after the
changeover.
Caution!!! Original equipment of the manufacturer to be used
only.
Disassembly
Press with thumb in the middle and release the mulching
wedge.
Caution!!!
If the mower is blocked during mulching reduce the
travelling speed so that the knife could continue in
grinding the grass and spread it on the lawn. Never
remove the gathered grass with your hands.
Drive control
The self-propelling travel is controlled as follows:
Press the operating lever (automatic stopping lever) (12)
towards the handle and at the same time, press the drive
lever towards the handle (13).
The forward movement is stopped by releasing the drive lever
(13).
Cutting height adjustment
Depending on the required cutting height, it is necessary to
adjust the height of wheels. Adjust the height with the lever (8)
as you wish. The middle position is most suitable for most
mowers.
Adding oil before starting
IMPORTANT
The oil level needs to be checked every time you are to use
the appliance. Fill up oil to the oil gauge as needed.
Refuelling (unleaded)
Fuel is added through the fuel-filler spout. Make sure not to
spill the petrol. Use common, clean unleaded petrol. Do not
mix petrol with oil. Reasonable volume of petrol should
always be bought so that it is consumed within 30 days.
WARNING: Wipe any spilled oil or petrol. Do not
store, pour, use near open fire.
WARNING: Alcohol-enriched fuels (gasohol) or fuels with
ethyl alcohol or methanol mixtures may attract humidity and
subsequent acid formation. As a result of long storage, clean
petrol may damage the engine fuel system. If you want to
prevent engine problems you should empty the fuel system
before storing longer than 30 days. Empty the fuel tank, start
the engine and let it run until the fuel system and carburettor
are empty. Add fresh fuel each season. See the storing
instructions, too. Never add cleaners to the fuel tank to clean
the engine or carburettor. By doing so, you could cause
irreparable engine damage.
Engine starting
To start the appliance, first make sure the spark plug is in
place and there is sufficient amount of oil and petrol in the
appliance.
CAUTION: The engine may smoke when started for the first
time, which is caused by the protective oil film on the inner
engine surface. Consider that as a normal situation.
1. Choke lever on panel on
2. Press the operating lever (automatic switch-off
lever) (12) to the extension handle (1).
3. With the operating lever (automatic switch-off
lever) (12) pulled in, slowly pull out the starting cord
(10) until you feel slight resistance and then pull in
the starter until the engine is started.
CAUTION: In cold weather or when the machine has not
been used for a long time it may be necessary to repeat
the first steps for several times.
