Connection
How to Connect the SAT Aerial
Connect the satellite receiver (see connection
example on page 7).
Select the AV programme position on the TV set.
The receiver is pre-programmed for an LNB-oscilla-
tor frequency of 9750 MHz. If a different LNB is
used, the corresponding frequency must be entered
in the menu.
If the aerial is correctly installed and directed at the
desired satellite, the receiver will work at once.
If the aerial is not yet directed at the satellite, you
can do this easily yourself.
Example:
For receiving the Astra satellite in Germany, you
must adjust an elevation angle of the aerial between
28° (in the north) and 36° (in the south) (use the
scale on the aerial). For example, in Nuremberg you
must adjust an angle of 33°.
Select programme position 1 (ARD) on the SAT
receiver.
Direct the aerial to the south then slowly turn it to
the east until the programme (ARD) is visible on the
picture screen. Slowly correct the elevation and azi-
muth angles until the optimum picture quality is
obtained and then tighten all nuts.
The aerial mast must be grounded according to the
EN 60065 standard.

Reception of Two Satellites
For the reception of two satellites (2 aerials or 1
aerial with 2 LNB’s), it is necessary to install a
22 kHz multi-switch (e.g. GRUNDIG SVT 5/4) be-
tween the receiver inputs A/TV and B/VCR and the
two LNB’s (see figure).
In this case dual LNB’ s should be used (e.g.
GRUNDIG LNC DUAL 1).
For the programme positions for the second satel-
lite, the settings “LNB LO 2” and “Pol./Ant. 22 kHz”
must be made in the menu.
For the Eutelsat (13° east) satellite, these para-
meters are already preset at the factory. Therefore
the reception of the Astra and Eutelsat/Hotbird
satellites is possible without reprogramming. If you
use for the reception of the Eutelsat satellite
an LNB with an oscillator frequency other than
9750 MHz, you must enter its frequency under
“LNB LO 2” in the menu.
The TV and radio stations of the Eutelsat (13° East)
satellite are already preprogrammed for “22 kHz”,
the stations of all other satellites for “0 kHz”.
