Connecting a DVD player (with digital audio output)
1 Connect the DVD player to one of the three EURO-AV sockets, to the phono
sockets »Y Pa/CB PR/CR« (for component signals), or to the front
sockets.
2 Connect the digital audio output of the DVD player (if available) to the
»OPTICAL/COAXIAL« socket of the TV set.
Note:
– A DVD player with S-VHS output cannot be connected to the Euro-AV
socket »X(1)«.
– A DVD player with RGB output via a Euro-AV socket must be connected to
the Euro-AV socket »X(1)«.
– If a DVD player with component phono output is connected to the
»Y Pa/C
B PR/CR« phono sockets, the digital audio output of the DVD
player must be connected with the »OPTICAL/COAXIAL« sockets on
the TV set.
Setting the signal type and the digital audio input
1 Call up the Dialog Center using the »Menu« button then select the »S«
menu using the »

2 Select »AV Connection « using »

« to call up the menu.
3 Use »

« to select »Digital Input« then use »

the AV socket to which the DVD player is connected (for DVD player with
digital audio output).
4 Set the S-Video signal type. For this, use »

socket to which the DVD player is connected (»EXT2 Input« or »EXT3 Input«)

« to select the signal type »S-VIDEO«.
5 Press »Exit« to end the setting.
